New shawl pin prototype

Here is a rough first draft of a new shawl pin I'm working on.  It's an artist's palette.  I'm still thinking about what color to make the palette and the brush handle.  Probably I'll have to make the palette first, sand and buff it and then add the color blobs later.  What do you think of it?

  1. I like it! Your palette could be white but I would use a light texture with sandpaper or similar (so doesn't need sanding as it helps camouflage any imperfections) and then your paint blobs can be sanded smooth. Your palette could also me a metallic silver.

  2. Thanks, I'm currently cooking a palette made from Pearl Kato. I'll see what it looks like in the morning.

  3. I just love it! It's perfect, I love the colors! It's a gorgeous concept, can't wait to see more of your work! I got linked here from PolymerClayCentral, and this is my first visit here, but I'll be back for sure! Keep up the great work!

  4. Great idea! There have already been suggestions about the colour of the palette (woodgrain effect? - but may be too time consuming) - I think the paint brush handle should be a different colour to the palette

  5. Yes, I thought about woodgrain, which is why I chose the light brown color for the palette, but that would take much too long. Even though I added some yellow to the brown and white mix, it still looks too pink. I agree about the color of the brush - it needs to be different from the palette.

  6. You could probably use a thinner consistency on the paint blobs--usually my palette is a MESS of colors. Maybe some TLS with some saturated color? :) LOVE the palette idea!
